Change in Posting Schedule

I love spreading my love of music through Hoi Polloi. But, my real life has become very busy and I need to reshuffle my priorities. I don't want to stop Hoi Polloi, but to be able to keep it up along with everything else. To do this I will need to change my posting schedule from every day to 4 days per week. Starting today, I will begin posting on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Once things settle down, I hope to pick back up again.

New streaming via Grooveshark

You may have noticed that the media player app has changed. I've switched to Grooveshark for the embedded media player. It appears that I'm not going to run into the issue with only a 0:30 preview of the song, so you get to listen to the entire track without having to navigate and register with another site.

As a bonus, the embedded player is smaller, without the extra iTunes, Amazon, ringtones clutter on the player. Let me know what you think and thanks again for listening.

New IMEEM limits prevents full streaming

I use an embedded IMEEM player to stream the music you hear on Hoi Polloi Music. Recently, they have limited the embedded player to a 0:30 minute preview of several songs. Per their FAQ "When you find a song on imeem that is a 30-second preview, it means that the artist or record label that has registered the song in our database has not approved full-length streaming for our users. Consistent with copyright fair use principles, the song will be streamed to you as a 30-second preview."

This has affected many songs in previous posts that had previously streamed the full song. I understand this restriction, but it does create issues on my site. However, there is an option, I will begin to post a link to the full song on IMEEM which will play the full track. I will try to find the full track, but this will still allow you to hear the full song and gives a backup in case they change a song in the future.
