Owl City - West Coast Friendship
Owl City formed in 2007 is one person, Adam Young. He states he started making music and created Owl City as project in his parent's basement as result of his insomnia.
Owl City's initial success was through it's MySpace page with the track 'Hello Seattle' had more than 6 million hits. They released the first two albums while not being signed to a record deal. However, with the help of entertainment attorney Ken Abdo, he was signed to Universal Republic.
West Coast Friendship is off their debut self label release, Maybe I'm Dreaming (probably a jab at his insomnia).
Trivia: Owl City was named after Adam Young's hometown, Owatonna, Minnesota.
